00 The role

Strong growth starts with a solid foundation. And in production, that is you. At our production location in Katwijk, near Cuijk, you will work together with your colleagues. You will ensure that the casing soil leaves on time and as agreed. For this, the machines must run smoothly, the schedule must be correct, and colleagues must be able to rely on one another.

You operate the packaging machines for our bagged goods and big bags. You start up and programme the machines, adjusting them where necessary. You resolve minor faults yourself. You also help with loading lorries and containers. You work mainly on the shop floor, where you can see straight away whether the process is running smoothly and immediately see the results of your work. The pace is fast and the work is physical. You keep an overview, spot deviations and push through together with your colleagues, thus keeping production moving.

00 / Your contribution to the mix

  • Running machines

You start and programme the packaging machines and adjust them when production requires it.

  • Tracking the schedule on the shop floor

You coordinate with the loader drivers regarding which order is next and together you keep the production schedule on track.

  • Tackling faults practically

You spot anomalies, resolve minor faults and contribute ideas on how to improve the process.

  • Product loaded properly

You load lorries and containers with the final product and ensure that the work is finished off neatly.

00 / Expectations

  1. This is how you work at Legro

At Legro we manage the entire production process in-house, giving us control over the whole supply chain from raw material to customer. Every link matters. Your work forms the foundation for the colleague who follows you, which is why you work in a small team with direct communication. Colleagues speak their minds, keep their promises and help each other when the pressure mounts.

Does the schedule change or does a machine break down? Then you don't wait around, but look together at what is needed. During busy periods, you sometimes work extra hours. That is precisely when you realise what you mean to each other. Do you see how things could be done more cleverly or better? Then you raise the topic for discussion and help to implement it as well.

  2. You bring this with you
    • Technical insight: You have an affinity with machinery and automated production processes. You quickly grasp how a production line works.
    • Autonomy and overview: You see what needs to be done and take action when planning, production or quality deviates.
    • Ownership You liaise directly with colleagues, keep to your commitments and take the next link in the chain into account.
    • Can-do attitude: You like to roll up your sleeves and are willing to do physical work. Even when it is busy, you keep a level head and help push the team forward.
    • Forklift certificate: You have a valid forklift certificate or are willing to obtain this at Legro.
  3. This is what you get from Legro
    • Salary: a gross monthly salary within the job scale of €2,608.26 to €3,894.02 based on 40 hours. Your knowledge and experience will determine your placement on the scale.
    • Free time: 24 days of annual leave and 3.5 ADV days, supplemented by any age-related leave days where applicable.
    • Travel expense allowance: €0.25 per kilometre.
    • Development: opportunities for further development within the organisation.
    • At work: great colleagues, freedom and trust.
    • Together outside of work: staff parties spread throughout the year.

00 / Over Legro

Legro has been a family business for a hundred years, specialising in growing media and casing soil. Over four generations, we have grown into one of the largest producers of growing media in Europe and beyond. More than 170 colleagues work at our Dutch sites in Helmond, Asten and Cuijk. We are big enough to count on an international scale and compact enough to know each other. The communication channels are short and we tackle things together. Everyone takes responsibility for their own work and for the next link in the chain. This is how we create quality that growers worldwide can rely on.
